For those of you that haven’t heard :: Bea Arthur becomes a mother to Larry David
It’s a casting choice made in TV heaven, as the inimitable Beatrice Arthur reveals she’ll be going in next week to play Larry David’s mother on a future installment of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
What, you say Larry’s mother died in season three of the HBO hit? Well, you’re right, but why should that stop them?
“I’m doing a dream sequence. I’m just thrilled to do that show. I can’t wait,” says the Broadway great, whose TV contributions include “Maude” and “The Golden Girls” — the latter of which gets its second-season DVD release today. She notes, “There are so few shows I really watch. I love ‘The Daily Show’ and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ and other than that it’s news or old movies.”
Also, Amazon is now taking pre-orders for Golden Girls season 3 at a nice price point. Reserver your copy to day via the link to the right!
Speaking of which, According to Rue McClanahan, the DVD of the third season of “The Golden Girls” is being released in November (22nd). Because Rue is currently appearing in Broadway’s “Wicked” (and can’t get away for a few months), Bea and Betty White are due to fly to NYC for a signing.

Bea Arthur will be part of the 25th anniversary of PETA on September 10th. The gala and humanitarian awards show will be at the Paramount Pictures in Hollywood on that Saturday. Save your pennies though, these gala events usually cost a pretty penny, starting at $500 a chair. For more information visit :: www.peta25.com/gala-faq.asp

I’ve made a lot more progress then I imagined! Welcome to the new ‘news’ section. I have basically converted the news page to a blog format. Why? Many reasons… you can now subscribe to this news section and get all of the Bea news delivered to your RSS aggregator. Also, this will make it 100 times easier for me to do updates to the news, so I won’t be so behind anymore! More importantly, if you want to comment on the news that is posted, you can very easily, by clicking the ‘comments’ link below. How wonderful! The only problem is, I wish I did this four years ago, rather then now. But, never late then never, right! Also available, is the ability to breeze through the news via the archives and search feature, as well!
Currently, I have reposted this years news into this new format, but over the next few days, possibly weeks, I will repost all the news from the past five years. It’s quite time consuming to do this, but it will be worth it in the long run, so your patients is appreciated! In the meantime, you can visit the archives by clicking over on the right hand column, under ‘links’.
I want to also make this new news service more able to be controlled by Bea’s fans and not only me! So, if you feel that you would be a worthy candidate, email me and we can discuss your involvement and then set you up with an account so you can post to the news. In the past there has been a couple of people who really stepped up to the plate, they know who they are, and are welcome to join me here now!
In the future, I may even do some podcasts and/or even videoblogs for this section, so be sure to check out those. I love playing around with new technology, so I might as well use what is available to us and have fun with it!
Let me know what you think of this new format by commenting below! Also, if you want to check out what I have been doing to my own blog with video and podcasts, click HERE! Until next time…
