Bea Arthur’s Maude part of Norman Lear 19-disc DVD box set

April 11th, 2009

learGot some extra cash? Then donate to this web site! (Sorry, first thing that came to mind) Or, treat yourself to the new 19-disc DVD box set that is due to release on June 9th! Obviously, I am a fan of anything that Bea is in, but aside from her work alone, I have been a fan of Norman Lear just as long, if not longer. Growing up on hits like All In The Family, Good Times and The Jeffersons, it wasn’t until years later when focusing on Bea’s career that I put it all together of Lear being the brains behind all of these shows. So, click HERE to check out the full run down of what is in this box set. If interested in it, you can pre-order it now at a dandy of a reduced price on Amazon today!

Also, be sure to watching THIS video trailer of the release. There are some, short but sweet, clips of our Bea in it! They are quite recent and she is looking great as usual!

Until next time!
Kev!

Halmark Channel now re-running The Golden Girls

February 27th, 2009

Thank you Lifetime Channel for all the years of GG reruns… but now it’s time to change the channel for your favorite girls…

Picture it…On March 1, viewers can enjoy 18 hours of tales from St. Olaf, pizza-and knishes, Southern belles and sassy seniors with an 18 hour marathon of “The Golden Girls,” which redefined the term ‘Must See TV’ for a generation of fans, and generations to come.

With six seasons in the Top 10, 79 award nominations with 34 wins and 38% of America watching the finale, “The Golden Girls” stands in select company as one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time. Rue McClanahan, Estelle Getty, Bea Arthur and Betty White star as four South Florida seniors sharing a house, their dreams, their loves and losses. Bright, provocative, clueless, and hilarious, these lovely mismatched ladies form the perfect circle of friends.

Experience a full day of laugh-packed episodes from this landmark television series when “The Golden Girls” begins airing on Hallmark Channel beginning Saturday, March 1, 8:30 a.m – 2:30 a.m., and continues Mondays-Fridays 8-9 a.m., 4-5 p.m. and 12 a.m.-2 a.m., Saturdays 6-9 a.m. and Sundays 8:30-10 a.m (All times ET/PT).

Sad news today… very sad… the passing of Bea Arthur’s TV mom, Estelle Getty ::

Sadly, today July 22, 2008 at 5:35 a.m. Pacific Time, we said our last good-byes to our little friend Estelle, who passed away and made her journey to the great beyond. Although it was a trip that she never wanted to take, she went gracefully, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her family and her very loving care-givers.

Estelle’s legacy will live on and on through the comedy and laughter she gave to us all, which will forever keep us laughing out loud.
