Initially, I wasn't going to put up a page about funding and/or asking people to donate. However, after thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that it wouldn't hurt neither. At the risk of boring you with my current financial situation, let's just say that I'm not exactly sure where I will come up with the money to pay for this project. I do have two years approximately to figure that out, so I'm not overly concerned at the moment. Also, touring South America is luckily less expensive then touring Europe for example.

Again, to be clear, I do not expect or plan on donations, but I am going to have this page up in the event someone does want to support my cause. They will be credited in all video production, online journals and life long memories.

Speaking of video production, a major part of this project is to record my journey before the trip, during the trip and after the trip. To archive the people I meet and the places I visit. I plan on videoblogging my experiences as well as creating an edited DVD documenary at the end of this. At this time, I am estimating (extremely roughly) my expense for video production (ie, new video camera, blank recordable media, batteries and electricity converters) and transportation (flight and ground) will be between US$4000.00 and $7000.00. At this time I cannot estimate the cost of food and housing as I have not researched that part yet.

Do you have any ideas or experience with this kind of project that I am taking on? Let me know! I'm working from the ground up and learning every minute that passes. I'm curious to if there are funds/grants and would love to find out more!
