Grocery Store Fire
The grocery store, Dominick’s (3012 N Broadway, Chicago), that I have been going to for the past 7 years burnt down just 15 minutes after visiting there this past Sunday. At first, it was quite scary being that we were told it exploded and wasn’t sure if anyone got out. Luckily, everyone got out and only a few minor injuries occurred. Funny how you suddenly see the faces of the people that work there, that you see everyday and wonder if they were okay or not. I felt lucky too that I just missed this chaotic event by only 15 minutes… you always go back and think… what if…
I guess this is a good time to go on a diet being this is really the only grocery store within walking distance from my home!

I had forgotten all about Dominicks and White Hen “when you run out of anything, run out to Whit Hen” I guess that is what being out of Chicago does to a man…But I find carpet that I can sing 588-2300 and have anyone familiar with Chicago sing the rest. It was good to see the Dominicks…even if it was on fire

Yikes! Did they ever find out the cause?
Josh - lol. I grew up in Indiana but watched Chicago TV stations. I had that jingle memorized at a very early age. When, I went away to college, I didnt hear it for a while. After I graduated I got a job in Chicago. I was so excited to in the windy city and as I was moving in … I heard it on the TV again … I about jumped out of my chair to applaud!

This was my favorite video on this blog. You get to record some of the firefighting action.
