Skyscraper Collapse Thoughts
LimeBlog #50 :: Thought I would share a reoccuring thought that has been going through my mind. One of many, however, this one isn’t so pleasant. Tall buildings to skyscrapers, what goes up must come down! Watch this video entry and let me know if you think about the same, though probably not on a daily basis. One thing I forgot to mention in this video was the recent earthquakes near Chicago. This was one of the reason I started to think about buildings coming down and of course forgot to mention it! Typical LimeBlog planning in effect! Check back and/or subscribe soon, new videoblogs every other Thursday… ish. Kev! |

I too am fascinated with tall buildings, having grown up in a small town in Wisconsin. I haven’t really had a problem worrying about them falling down, but I do have an unhealthy fear of flying and I think it’s mostly because I constantly picture what it would be like if the engines just shut off and the plane fell, or a wing came off and we just spun and spun to the ground. (that was an unnecessarily long run on sentence). Anyway, as far as the construction, I think I heard somewhere that buildings are very wide and heavy underground and that’s what helps keep them standing. Hope that little tidbit helps.

Yes, well flying is a whole other issue with me, I’ll save that for another video blog, haha. Gosh, I have some issues huh! Anyway, ironically I was just thinking, as I was looking at these building again during a walk, that something I was forgetting about was how far down they dig when building. I forget that is also part of the overall design of stability which does make thing a little more logical. That being said, some still look like they can easily snap off at the bottom! Thanks for your comments!
