Issue 001 • November 2001

Welcome to the first edition of LimeLetter. Let me briefly explain what you will be seeing on this and future editions of the newsletter. First of all, this is an informal, wrap up, of changes and updates to my web site projects. It is important to know that both Limegreen Tangerine and Bea Arthur in the Lime Light web sites are nothing more than a hobby for me. As a career, web design has rules and laws, but as a hobby design on the web can be quite adventurous! Its all about evolution as well, as my designs and programing evolves, so will this newsletter. So look forward to changes everywhere within the upcoming months. Change is the spice of life!

What the hell is LimeGreen Tangerine?

a) an online portfolio
b) a personal web site made by an illiterate idiot
c) a virtual playground of nothingness
d) delusions of granduer

Answer :: all of the above

I have the hardest time explaining to people what my web site is about. Mainly, because I don't know myself. The wonderful part is that it is okay that I don't know.

Recent updates ::

• Quicktime and Flash ::
Limegreen Tangerine is fully integrating Apple's Quicktime technology and Macromedia's Flash and Shockwave as a norm into the design. I have been replacing huge animated GIF files with smooth Flash and Quicktime intros on various web projects. The features are just too cool to pass up and they bring net usability to a new level. Please upgrade your browsers to Quicktime 5.0 and Flash 5 today. It will be well worth your internet experience on this and other web sites.

Breaking News (see below)

Why Bea? ::

That uncomprimising, enterprising, any thing but tranquilizing... and then there's Bea!

I was hit by a big brick of luck this year. I have always been a huge fan of Bea Arthur since the mid 80's in the original run of the Golden Girls. A decade later, the fascination dramatically esculated after accidently seeing an episode of Maude. I became completely obsessed with Bea, yet couldn't find much information about her. Therefore, I decided to create a valuable fan web site about her, Bea Arthur in the Lime Light. I launched the site in the beginning of February 2001. Luck came into play when to my surprise I was informed, about a month later, that Bea would be starting a one women tour through 26 states over the next year.

Since then, Bea has come and gone through Chicago, where I got the chance to see her show 3 times and meet her in person a few more times at local gay bars and cabarets. Truely a dream come true!

I created a mini web site within Bea Arthur in the Lime Light dedicated to her show And Then There's Bea. Here, I cover tour dates that are not posted on her official tour site, my personal accounts with Bea with photos, other people's stories of meeting her, and much more!

Remaining tour dates ::

Dec. 11-23 (no show on 17th): Palm Beach, FL - Royal Poinciana Playhouse

Dec. 26-30: Thousand Oaks, CA - Fred Kavli Theatre, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza

Jan. 2-6, 2002: Phoenix, Orpheum Theatre

Jan. 11-13, 2002: Lynchburg, VA, Lynchburg Academy of Music (to be staged at Smith Hall, Randolph-Macon Woman's College)

Early Jan - February: New York City!

Recent updates ::

• LimeLetter newsletter launched (your here baby!)

• Many more Quicktime videos have been converted and uploaded to the site, in the collection section!

Coming soon ::

Here are a few things I have in the pipeline. Basically, I'll get to them when I have the time.

• Bea's biography :: a collaborative effort written by myself and good Bea friend, Jessica.

• More Quicktime videos

Recommended links ::

Golden Girls UK :: simply the best, overall, web site dedicated to the Golden Girls. the webmaster is very personable, which makes any web site even more enjoyable.

And Then There's Bea Yahoo! Club :: for more updated news on Bea Arthur and her tour, check out this Yahoo! Club that I created earlier this year. It has been an extremely valuable resource of information.

And Then There's Bea :: this is the official web site to Bea's current tour. Unfortunately, its pretty clunky and has only been updated once. If I were to rate this site, I would have to give it a thumbs down... but it's worth checking out!
